Subject: Report from the President

Dear Scholastican,

This is to confirm that Mila Alvarez Magno has been officially appointed by the Executive committee as the association's Information Technology (IT) Officer effective June 1st 2002.

I am glad to share with you the outcome of our recent Garage Sale held on May 25th at the residence of our Second Vice President - Gwen Flor, chaired by our First Vice President - Marilyn St. Pierre with Marimon Periquet, First Secretary and Zennie Bernardo, Treasurer as Co-chairs.

For this first fundraising event of the year, we raised a total amount of $476.00, proceeds of which will go towards Sr. Mary Placid Abejo's music ministry.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members and friends, who contributed their time and effort in addition to donations of cash and merchandise, namely:

Pearly Crisologo Allison, Alvin Flor, Ruby-Dee Flor, Anna Yu Kwong, Aurora Manalo, Neni Lat Kedvessy, Cora Lat O'Connor, Lloyd Borlaza Quesada, Marie Sawyers, Margarita St. Pierre, Rebecca Ty Wang; and the officers - including, Zennie Lat Bernardo, Itos Fule Dioso, Gwen Flor, Mila Alvarez Magno, Marimon Montinola Periquet,Marilyn Bengzon, St. Pierre, Emy Borlaza Telesforo, (as well as Vicky Mozar Azzaraga, who was straggling for about 2 hours with her donations in a bag - but never made it - but was with us in spirit) and yours truly.

The momentum is building and the excitement is mounting for our First Ever Grand Reunion at Bally's Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada with approximately 75 registered attendees plus more Scholasticans who will be joining parts of the event, the accompanying husbands and children, Sr. Mary Andrew, Sr.Lourdes Nepomuceno and other guest speakers and friends. It will surely be a promising and an extraordinary chapter in our lives.

The confirmed attendees from Ontario are: Gwen Flor, Zennie Lat Bernardo, Vicky Mozar Azzaraga, Toni Pacis Velez, Ana Yu Kwong and yours truly. There is a possibility that Mila Alvarez Magno might still be able to join on her way home to Toronto from a business trip in China.

There is also an open invitation to SSCAAC- Ontario Chapter from the "Philippine Colleges & Universities Alumni Summerfest" for a potluck picnic on Sunday, July 14th - details of which will be sent to you by Gwen Flor, once a decision has been reached.
